Product Overview

Holes (1st Edition) follows Stanley Yelnats, a boy sent to Camp Green Lake detention center under a family curse that traces back to his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather. At the camp, Stanley and the other boys spend their days digging holes exactly five feet wide and five feet deep, ostensibly to build character. But there is no lake at Camp Green Lake, just an awful lot of holes, and Stanley soon realizes the warden is searching for something buried beneath the dried-up lakebed. This inventive and darkly humorous tale weaves together crime, punishment, and redemption as Stanley digs for the truth.
